Melanoma can develop anywhere on your body; otherwise, in normal skin or a mole. Melanoma often appears on the face or trunk of an affected man. This type of cancer most often develops on the lower legs in women. In both men and women, melanoma can occur on exposed skin.  

Signs of Melanoma:  

  • Large brown spot with dark spots  
  • Mole or bleeding that changes colour, size, or sensation  
  • A minor lesion with irregular borders and parts appearing in red, pink, white, blue, or blue-black  
  • Itching or burning painful ulcer  
  • Deep sores on the palms, soles, fingers, toes, or mucous membranes of your mouth, nose, vagina, or anus.
